Frequently asked questions
Cake pricing and servings?
Our pricing is based on servings, flavour and design. Please provide this information for exact pricing. There are upcharges for ordering toppers, décor, florals, fondant accent pieces, tiered cakes, and delivery. Please inquire for more in depth pricing.
Our serving sizes are a general guideline, the actual quantities may vary depending on the person cutting the cake. In general, the dessert portion is 2″x1″ and coffee/tea serving is 1″x1″.
Where, when and how do I collect my order?
Our operating days for public pick-up are Thursday – Sunday, please check our collection times on our website. Pick up is from our kitchen in South Perth. Please note that as the kitchen does not have public access, the address and more details will be sent to you with your order confirmation.
Prior to picking up your order, please make sure to turn your car air-conditioning to cold, to prevent buttercream melting.
Your order will be secured in a cake box when you pick it up. We recommend sitting the box flat on the floor of the passenger footwell. If your order is a large cake, tall cake or tiered cake, it is best to bring a friend to hold the cake box during the trip.
Drive slowly around corners and over bumps at all times.
What design can I choose? Do you do fondant cakes?
Please note that we do not cover cakes in fondant. All Sweet Devotion cakes are made with buttercream or ganache with fondant accent pieces when the design calls for it.
If you have a specific cake idea, you are more than welcome to send me the inspirational photos. I will then design the cake by extracting some elements from each and create something that’s especially for you.
It also helps to browse through our social media gallery designs I have created and choose a style that you like the most.
We do not replicate other bakers’ designs, we will only use them as inspiration to design your individual cake
What special dietary options do you provide?
We currently offer gluten-free friendly options, please refer to our menu for the flavours available.
PLEASE NOTE:
Our kitchen does handle wheat flour and nuts. Although we take every precaution to prepare any special dietary items in a separate area, small traces may still occur. Please see our T&Cs / Disclaimer page.
How long can I keep my cake / desserts?
We generally recommend at least 3 to 4 weeks notice. We can only take up to a certain amount of orders for each date. If we reach our limit for a date then we won’t be accepting further orders for that date.
A 50% deposit is only payable for wedding bookings or for orders over $500. All other cake orders need to be paid in full to be considered a booked order.
By submitting payment/retainer/deposit, you are acknowledging Sweet Devotion’s terms and conditions and agreeing to them. Once payment is submitted, your order is considered “under contract”.
For cancellation policies, please check below or the T&Cs / Disclaimer page.
How long can I keep my cake / desserts?
Our cakes and desserts are made fresh for your special occasion, and we would like you to enjoy it at its best quality on the day.
However, if you have any leftovers, apply a piece of plastic wrap over the cut surface(s) to keep it moist, then store it in an airtight container or its original box then in the fridge.
For buttercream cakes, we recommend a shelf time in the fridge of up to 4 days after collection, or 1 month in the freezer with stable temperature. Bring cake to room temperature 1 hour before cutting it and avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
For fresh cream cakes / tarts / deluxe dessert boxes, please refrigerate in its original box and eat within 1 day of collection.
What if I need to cancel my order or change the date?
Rescheduling of an order may be done ONLY if the new date is available and the request is not made any less than 4 weeks prior to the pickup date for weddings and large events or 2 weeks prior to the pickup date for all other orders. One complimentary date change will be allowed, free of charge, if outside of the minimum rescheduling date for your order. If a second (or more) date change is required, there will be an additional $50 fee per change.
We will do our best to accommodate any date changes, but no guarantees can be made – please get in touch as soon as possible and we will try to help
If you need to cancel your order and are outside of 4 weeks from pickup date, you will receive a full refund less any costs already incurred (custom toppers / flowers / special decorations etc) towards your order.
A 50% cancellation fee will apply if an order is cancelled 2-4 weeks from pickup date.
For cancellations within 2 weeks of your pickup date, no refund will be issued.
